April Anarchy: Devil Masami vs Chigusa Nagayo - 04/15/87

Devil Masami vs Chigusa Nagayo (AJW): This was a great match with high energy & high intensity. It begins with a technical orientation but escalates into a power battle as Devil takes over. This Crush Gal won't quit and rattles Devil with great suplexes and pinning holds. Masami gets frustrated and brings out the weapons and introduces a bit of anarchy into this April match. At under 15 minutes, I give this a Strong RECOMMENDATION as two of the best ever go at it.

I haven't seen it all but contrary to popular belief, early 2000's Japanese wrestling doesn't suck. Is it different than the greatest decade in modern wrestling (1990s) ? Yup but there's plenty of great wrestling to enjoy. I think the inter-promotional stuff is very interesting and although it would stay a part of puro, it was best when it was fresh & new. Masa Fuchi & Tiger Mask vs Hiro Saito & Shunji Takano (AJPW) : Fun stuff! Shunji's German suplex looks a lot like Takayama's because of his height. That was sick! Enjoyed Fuchi punch Saito in the head from the mount position. He look crazed. Tiger Misawa is really in his element here. April Anarchy: Genichiro Tenryu vs Tatsumi Fujinami - 04/29/96

Genichiro Tenryu vs Tatsumi Fujinami (NJPW) : Two of the very best ever. Two guys that are in my personal top 10 ever. Early on the Dragon is breathing fire and Tenryu is getting burnt. Dragon Rocket topes until Genichiro puts an end to that. Tenryu busts Fujinami in the snout and is gushing blood ! This is what he needs. Tenryu feeds on his opponents pain. Oh this is fucking beautiful - blood is spraying off Fujinami's chest with every chop from Tenryu! The Dragon WON'T QUIT. This is classic stuff. Emotionally speaking, this is an All Time Classic to me. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Other ones that I would recommend are: Akira Maeda vs Tatsumi Fujinami from '86, Jim Duggan vs Ted DiBiase or vs Buzz Sawyer from Mid South '85. 👇👇👇Check out the labels for more matches you might be interested in. Zero One Wrestling - 2007 - Part 1

Happy New Year! If you follow me on PWO then you know I have an interest in Zero One Wrestling. In my own wrestling research, I've found it difficult to get a good read on the promotion. Cagematch has a couple reviews here and there. I would say there's only one person on there that I trust their opinion and taste. So I thought I'd check it out myself by going through what's available online and cherry picking matches that I think look good. Originally I was going to watch a few matches per show but that was way too much. Again, if you've read my other posts here or on PWO, grandpa bought a bunch of DVDs that he's gotta watch. More FMW You Might Have Missed - 1998

Hayabusa & Jinsei Shinzaki vs Yukihiro Kanemura & Hido (01/06/98): Oh yeah, this was just a blast! You kinda get everything you want here in one 14 minute match. It's like a Dean Malenko Nitro match from like '96 😋 It is just 4 pros having a very good wrestling match. It tells a little story (or continues one), has some drama with the heels hitting nut shots, using chairs and making blind tags, you've got your baby faces shining with their cool moves! Hayabusa vs. The Gladiator (Mike Awesome) (03/17/98): I wouldn't have laid it out this way but this was a very good battle between the two most flashy wrestlers. It did not disappoint one bit. There were some really great moments here and nice surprises. Really high impact stuff throughout. I thought the selling was pretty good as well.
