Takeshi Morishima vs Samoa Joe - 02/16/07

-

Takeshi Morishima vs Samoa Joe (ROH) - They did an awesome job capturing intensity and building the spectacle without having a ton of matches. This was a grudge match without a big build up. Anyhow, they just beat each other up all match. Joe was vicious and Morishima is a rhino. His hip attacks and lariats were especially brutal. On top of this, these two slammed and suplexed each other all over the ring. Helluva ROH debut for Takeshi Morishima. Great match! RECOMMENDED

New Japan 1990: Hase & Sasaki vs Strong Machine & Goto

Hiroshi Hase & Kensuke Sasaki vs Super Strong Machine & Tatsutoshi Goto (12/11/90): Bad-ass classic tag team match! Action packed and full of piss & vinegar! This period of Kensuke might just be my favorite because he's just a big headed dude trying to prove himself. Hase, Strong Machine & Goto are just their awesome normal selves. Everything just clicks here. I wanted to see this for a long ass time and that was a helluva match. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Plus it's under 15 minutes.

New Japan 1990: Kobayashi, Kido & Choshu vs Dragon Bombers

Kuniaki Kobayashi, Osamu Kido & Riki Choshu vs. Dragon Bombers (Shiro Koshinaka, Takayuki Iizuka & Tatsumi Fujinami) (12/11) : Great high energy 6 man match. Good bits of Choshu vs Fujinami but also Koshinaka taking it to Riki. Kobayashi was excellent with Kosh & Iizuka. Kido was probably the one guy who didn't truly stand out but he was a good soldier in the battle nonetheless. 1990 New Japan tags really don't get the credit they deserve. Having seen many/most of the AJPW 90's Jumbo vs Misawa tags, these bouts fit in especially in regards to intensity & action. The big difference is that the New Japan tags are much shorter. This one is 12 minutes or so. Recommended stuff!

New Japan 1990: Muto & Chono vs Hashimoto & Sasaki

Keiji Muto &  Masa Chono vs Shinya Hashimoto & Kensuke Sasaki (06/18):  16 minutes of action! Chono & Sasaki were flying out the gate! Muto & Hashimoto slowed it down for a moment. Then this kept going at a steady pace until the finish. Chono had an awesome segment with Hashimoto involving the STF. Honestly everyone was excellent here. This was a very good tag match with four soon to be super stars. More 1990 New Japan to come. Stay tuned folks! 👇👇👇Click the labels for more matches you'd like to see!

Psycho September: Abdullah The Butcher vs The Sheik

Abdullah The Butcher vs The Sheik (Cage Match - TWA 1991): Hot damn! This is what Psycho September is all about! Sheik is cutting up the ref before Abby gets in the ring. We get bloody carving in the ring. Sabu throws a metal trash can over top of the cage. Sheik caves the bin in over Abdullah's bald head. Eventually there's a winner but things don't end. In fact, things get crazier! Sabu is in the mix, Kevin Sullivan comes out, Terry Funk is fighting. Sheik gets a sign off a wall or something. Abby is choking a camera man. Some other dude gets it! Highly Recommended mayhem!

AJPW - 1986 - March & April - Jumbo, Tenryu, DiBiase & more

Thanks for joining me here! Let's take another look at the wonderful footage from 1986 in AJPW! March Terry Gordy vs Jumbo Tsuruta (03/10)  - This was very good stuff! Surprisingly not a smash mouth barn burning brawl but a scientific match between two heavyweights. So it's a slower pace but there's quality wrestling to be had. I mean Gordy eventually upper cuts Jumbo in the balls but it's scientific until then 😄 Plus we get a clean finish and a pretty cool one too! Jumbo Tsuruta vs Animal Hamaguchi (03/13) - This was a sick match! 😋 Animal jumps Jumbo at the bell...he's crazy! There's a lil down time where Animal works the arm but after that this cooks. Animal is out ranked big time but dammit, he's fierce. He pisses the All Japan ace off. Jumbo pulls Hamaguchi up a couple times from his own pin in order to punish his foe some more. This backfires as Animal doesn't know the meaning of quit. And he's got moves and takes some crazy bumps...which ma...
