Awesome August: Tatsumi Fujinami vs Greg Valentine

Tatsumi Fujinami vs Greg Valentine (NJPW 08/13/82): Fujinami vs Valentine in '82? Hot damn! Sign me up! And this absolutely delivered! Both guys were beating the sweat off of each other. The Dragon used his drop kicks but Greg was definitely "The Hammer." He was pounding Fujinami with elbows, over hand chops & clubbing fists to the sternum. To make matters worse, Dick Murdoch was his ring second. The Texas red neck wasn't shy about interfering (but not too much). I LOVED this match. A near classic battle! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for fans of either.

AJPW - 1986 - March & April - Jumbo, Tenryu, DiBiase & more

Thanks for joining me here! Let's take another look at the wonderful footage from 1986 in AJPW! March Terry Gordy vs Jumbo Tsuruta (03/10)  - This was very good stuff! Surprisingly not a smash mouth barn burning brawl but a scientific match between two heavyweights. So it's a slower pace but there's quality wrestling to be had. I mean Gordy eventually upper cuts Jumbo in the balls but it's scientific until then 😄 Plus we get a clean finish and a pretty cool one too! Jumbo Tsuruta vs Animal Hamaguchi (03/13) - This was a sick match! 😋 Animal jumps Jumbo at the bell...he's crazy! There's a lil down time where Animal works the arm but after that this cooks. Animal is out ranked big time but dammit, he's fierce. He pisses the All Japan ace off. Jumbo pulls Hamaguchi up a couple times from his own pin in order to punish his foe some more. This backfires as Animal doesn't know the meaning of quit. And he's got moves and takes some crazy bumps...which ma...

Cruising the 80's: Choshu vs Strong Machine - 09/20/86

Riki Choshu vs Super Strong Machine (AJPW/Japan Pro) - Their first lockup looked like two bucks locking antlers. This was a great singles match between the heads of the rival factions. Things really kick off when, after going for a more technical route, Choshu rips Machine's mask. It's on like Donkey Kong now! Strong Machine targets Riki's ribs (which must be on the mend). You know he's got a whopper of a Riki Lariat waiting for him! Excellent main event to this Japan Pro/All Japan show (the last one ever per Cagematch). 👇👇👇Use the labels below to find older stuff you might have missed! Or use the archives 👍

New Japan 1990: Muto & Chono vs Hashimoto & Sasaki

Keiji Muto &  Masa Chono vs Shinya Hashimoto & Kensuke Sasaki (06/18):  16 minutes of action! Chono & Sasaki were flying out the gate! Muto & Hashimoto slowed it down for a moment. Then this kept going at a steady pace until the finish. Chono had an awesome segment with Hashimoto involving the STF. Honestly everyone was excellent here. This was a very good tag match with four soon to be super stars. More 1990 New Japan to come. Stay tuned folks! 👇👇👇Click the labels for more matches you'd like to see!

Cruising the 80's: Tenryu vs Ueda - 07/22/82

Genichiro Tenryu vs Umanosuke Ueda (All Japan) - I promise I'm not going to focus only on guys like Ueda & Tiger Toguchi but, damn! These guys are really overlooked and deserve your attention. This bout is a blast, for example. Tenryu takes Ueda's kendo stick right from the start and is cracking him over the head with it. Then these two are just smacking each other around with chairs and fisticuffs for 5 fevered minutes. Next, the camera man wildly spins trying to capture a younger Tiger Jeet Singh rushing to the ring. He attacks Tenryu and only then does ref Joe Higuchi end the match in a DQ 😆 It should have been thrown out from the start! Haha, I'm glad he didn't though! Both guys are bleeding . Tenryu is bathed in the red stuff. The match itself is 5 minutes but the other 6 minutes of 11 minutes is unhinged fighting in the ring, in the crowd and on the way to the locker room. 👇👇👇Click on the labels below for more reviews you might enjoy!
